Empower

All of us are made different from one another. We may differ in the way we look, the way we think. We're all given certain time and choices to lead our lives with.

What is the one thing that makes a huge distinction between different people?

It is the power to lead a life the way we want it.

Yes!

All of us have a different dream, a different path that stands out from others.

Empowerment is a word that everybody knows but not a skill that everybody could/can master. 

What is the first thing that pops up in your head when you hear the word  ‘Empowerment’?

8 out of 10 people would say "Women Empowerment” because that is the one thing we see everywhere and is one of the most needed in the world.

But can the term 'empowerment' be contained to women only?

Let's look around ourselves and find answers to this question.

Who are these people who need your little help to look at the beautiful world outside their small sphere?

People who work all day to eat a single meal but think twice to take a decision in the society.

People who know what's right/not but hesitate to go against the society when they are harassed.

Students who are not comfortable with the environment around them just because they are new to the particular setting.

Children who think a lot before speaking to anybody only because there could be a language barrier.

We find a lot of people around us who face these problems and yet most of us don’t stand with them or even help them to stand for themselves.

The best thing about empowering others is that your own power is not weakened in the process. Quite a win-win situation, isn't it?

Why are people taken aback when they have to do something for themselves?

Are they scared to face people?

Or are they scared that they'll be less respected?

Why should such people be in a position that we'd never put ourselves in? 

There are people who choose to stay silent when they are hurt. 

There are people who fear character assassination and choose to resort to silence.

There are people who end up losing their lives for a simple reason that they could not "fit in" to the standards that are expected of them.

It is not because they choose to do it, it is because others don’t care even when they're struggling. We all choose to be oblivious to people around us.  

Are we doing enough to make their voice heard amidst the madness of this society that we're all trapped in? Or are we just ignorant because we don't want to fall prey to any issue that may arise?  

Empowering someone with courage is the best thing that could even make a person feel like the whole world CARES.

Empowering others is a favor you do for yourself, for your self-awareness and confidence.

Small things like giving more compliments, making time to talk to these people, nurturing their talents  or just staying in touch. We don't realize that these things could go a long way in the future.

Let us not be casual about the roles we play in other people's lives. Let's Empower everyone to have and raise a voice for what they want and what they deserve. Let's make it a happy place.  and treat the people who are less-powered the way we would want to be treated in their place.

Empowerment is not a way to success, its a way of living life, not just for yourself, but for others too! :)
